I didn’t have the heart to call them in. Imaginations were running wild as the 5 sisters romped around our front yard fighting monsters and building castles. It was time for dinner but they were happily playing and our late snack of pretzels and almond butter held us over. Dusk stretched out and day light lingered thanks to the time change. They should have already eaten and been getting ready for bed at that point for us to read together before hitting the hay but I could clearly hear the foes to be vanquished and they were no where near done. So I chose the wrong choice. Threw rhythm and routine to the wind. I let them play just to play. Bed time happened 40 minutes late but it was worth it for the magic of playing together.
