Here’s a short description for each of these masterclasses:
Yell less and actually be heard
Yelling is a symptom, not a character trait or personality type. Sometimes yelling is appropriate and necessary, often it is not and can cause harm and rupture in relationships. It doesn’t have to stay that way, we can learn how to express ourselves and manage our emotions in ways that don’t involve yelling and still be heard. This masterclass gets participants started with practical solutions to yell less and actually be heard.
Emotional regulation for the tapped out/burned out parent
When our nervous systems are overwhelmed and we’ve been dealing with chronic stress for too long, managing our emotions can feel almost impossible. Add kids in the mix and it is no wonder parents can struggle in the moment of difficulty with their children. What can really be done? Is it just how it is and will continue to be? We’ve found that doesn’t have to be the case and have not only personally made changes that have lasted, we’ve helped our clients do the same. This masterclass is a quick overview to help participants get started on finding what can really work for them with some practical action steps to keep them going.
Why your kids are fighting so much and how to change it
When your kids just won’t stop fighting and it’s over every single little thing… GAH! Why can’t they just get along? Will they ever? What can you do? Do you just let them go and hope they figure it out or step in and intervene? While there’s always bound to be some conflict in close relationships such as siblings, there are real steps parents can take to help foster a connection and lower fighting. As parents, we’ve been there ourselves and as parenting coachines, we’ve helped others who are there too. In this masterclass we offer reasonable and evidence-based strategies that can change sibling conflict in lasting ways.
Stop butting heads with your child: Bring fighting to an end between you and your child
Tired of fighting with your child? Sick of feeling so disrespected by how they talk to you and treat you? Want to stop butting heads and bring an end to power struggles with your kid? Whether your child is 4 or 14 or 24, parent-child fights can shift to genuine connection and collaboration. In this masterclass we share real life stories and situations with practical solutions that changed the parent-child relationship forever. Fighting with your child isn’t inevitable, you can guide and support with clear and firm boundaries without it being all head butting and explosions.
When responding with calm doesn’t seem to work
Did you commit to being gentle and responsive with your children but are baffled with how they seem to react to that? Are you responding to your child having a hard time in a calm way and nothing seems to improve? Have you tried acknowledging their feelings only for things to escalate and their upset to get louder or more aggressive? Do you feel lost when your child seems to push you away and shuts down when you offer empathy? In this masterclass we have a casual conversation about some of the reasons a responsive and calm approach to parenting may not be “working,” and then discuss options that may help.
Internet, Devices, and Your Family
How do you manage screens, devices, and internet use in your home? With your kids? With your partner? With yourself? IT IS possible to approach the use of screens, devices, and the internet with care, kindness, respect, and information, in a way that leads to family agreements that everyone understands and that take into consideration each person’s wants, needs, limits, and concerns. Find out how we do it in this masterclass!
